Portland Nitro will play their inaugural 2022 season in the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) West Division, facing competition from Colorado, Los Angeles, Salt Lake, San Diego, Oakland, and Seattle. Oregon Onyx have joined the Western Ultimate League (WUL) as the league's seventh team for 2022. Alongside Oregon, the league is composed of teams from Arizona, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Utah.

Joel Caswell

CEO | Business Manager

Joel is an entrepreneur and business professional who works as the Managing Partner and CEO for a private equity firm based in Oregon with holdings in real estate, tech, energy, commodities, and sports.

Joel has resided in Oregon with his wife and two year old daughter for the last twenty years. He is an athletic enthusiast, downhill skier, and club ultimate player. He coaches youth and adult downhill ski racing, manages city league ultimate in his hometown, coaches developing ultimate players, and captains his mixed club ultimate team.

Jaycee Jones

Jaycee has extensive expertise in real estate, athletic training and sports injury rehabilitation, personnel management, and marketing. She has worked extensively in team branding, including jersey design and social media marketing.

Jaycee recently moved to Portland from San Antonio, Texas. She is a natural-born athlete who has competed regionally and nationally in soccer, ice hockey, and club ultimate—currently with Oregon Schwa, a top-ten nationally ranked team. She has coached D-III women’s college ultimate and currently coaches high school ultimate at the Portland Waldorf School.

Jake Johnson

VP | General Manager Nitro

Jake is an Air Force Academy graduate with both a BS and MS in Operations Research. He currently works at Nike as a data analyst and has extensive expertise in statistics, machine learning, and data visualizations.

Jake is a native Oregonian, ultimate enthusiast, mixed club player, and high school ultimate coach in Portland with his partner, Jaycee. Jake is a former D-III college women’s coach, USAU conference coordinator, USAU TD, and served as the head of San Antonio’s non-profit disc organization for two years.

Jon Lee

Youth Outreach Director

Jon was born and raised in Portland, graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology, and has professional expertise working as an energy consultant in the Portland area. He is a genuine, passionate, and motivated leader both professionally and athletically.

Jon is an elite athlete and competitor who plays club ultimate with the top 4 ranked Portland Rhino, and has played in the AUDL on the East Coast.  Jon also fell in love with coaching and mentoring young athletes and has been the head coach of Trainwreck, the championship-winning YCC boys ultimate team, and works in summer camps and after school programs as a coach and coordinator.

Kimberly Hall, M.D.

Team Physician

Kimberly Hall, M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. Dr. Hall was born and raised in Hawaii. She attended Stanford University majoring in biology. There she played water polo and was the captain of the varsity team which won a national championship in her senior year. After college, she returned to Hawaii for medical school, attending the John A Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawaii. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Stanford Hospital, covering the Stanford football team during her time there. She then completed her orthopedic surgery sports medicine fellowship at the University of Michigan. During her fellowship she was a team physician for Michigan Athletics, focusing on football, hockey, swimming, and water polo.

James Holdermann, M.D. 

Jim is a Podiatric surgeon who resides and practices in Oregon with his wife Heather and their two children - a freshman in high school and a sophomore at OSU. Although born in Pennsylvania, he spent most of his youth growing up in Homer, Alaska. He has participated in competitive sports all of his life, but is most passionate about cross country skiing, alpine skiing, mountain biking and tennis. He continues to be competitive in cross country skiing at the masters level and coaches high school tennis.

Heather Holdermann, M.D.

Heather is a Podiatric surgeon who moved to Oregon with her husband 19 years ago. Heather was born in England, but was raised in Brandon, Florida. She spent much of her youth in competitive soccer receiving many state accolades and preforming at the state level. She continued her competitive pedigree through college playing division I soccer at Cornell University for four years. Heather continues to be competitive in tennis on the club level. She enjoys hiking, mountain biking and adventuring.
